On 13 February 2025, the Sri Lanka team at the Universities of Peradeniya and Sri Jayewardenepura organised an International Conference on Microplastic, Nanoplastic and Human Health. This was attended by project staff from partner institutions as well as representatives from the Sri Lankan government. During the conference, a policy brief listing urgent actions on the use of terrestrial agricultural plastic in Sri Lanka was presented to Dr Dammika Patabendi, Honorable Minister of Environment, Sri Lanka, His Excellency Andrew Patrick, British High Commissioner to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and Mrs RHMP Abeykoon, Additional Secretary Environment Policy & Planning, Ministry of Environment, Sri Lanka.
The conference was followed on 14 February by the final all-partner meeting of the project.
